Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about boat slips, storage, rentals, and marina policies

What are the season dates?

The season runs from May 15 through September 15, weather and water permitting. Docks go in the water before opening day, and all boats must be removed from slips by the end of the season unless you have arranged storage.

How do I get a boat slip?

Boat slips are assigned on a seasonal basis. Returning customers have priority to renew their slip each year. If you're new to the marina, you can join our waitlist and we'll contact you as soon as a slip becomes available.

What are the slip rates?

Slips are $75 ($72 early pay) per foot per season with a 24-foot minimum charge. PWC spaces and outside end spaces are a flat $875 per season. Visit our Services & Pricing page for full details.

Is there a discount for early payment?

Yes. Customers who pay their slip rental by December 1 qualify for an early-pay discount. Contact us for current discount details.

Can I keep my same slip from last year?

Returning customers generally have the option to renew their same slip for the upcoming season, subject to timely payment and compliance with marina rules. Slip assignments are confirmed once payment is received by the December 1 deadline.

What size boats can you accommodate?

We accommodate a wide range of boat sizes across our 10 docks (Gas Dock plus Docks 1-9). All slips carry a 24-foot minimum charge. Contact us to discuss your specific boat size and we'll help find the right fit.

Do you have electrical hookups?

Yes. Electrical service is available on Dock 1 and Dock 2 for $450 per season. This is an optional add-on to your slip rental.

What about boat and trailer storage?

We offer outside storage at $125 per summer, inside storage at $250 per summer, and oversized storage from $250 to $350 per summer. Storage is available for the off-season as well.

Are dock boxes allowed?

Yes, dock boxes are the only items permitted on the docks. They must be standard 6' or 8' white fiberglass boxes, available for purchase from the marina. Dock boxes must be installed at least 18" from the center of the main walkway (including overhangs and locks) to maintain a 36" clear center walkway for fire safety and ADA standards. No dock box may be placed in front of anchor reels.

Can I rent a boat?

Yes! We offer pontoon boat rentals. You can browse availability and book online through our rental system at youghlakemarina.stellarims.com.

What are your hours?

The gas dock and sewage pump-out station are open 9 AM to 5 PM seven days a week, and until 6 PM on Fridays and Saturdays. The marina office is open during the same hours but is closed on Tuesdays. If you need assistance on a Tuesday, please go to the gas dock.

Do you have a sewage pump-out station?

Yes. The pump-out station is open during gas dock hours (9 AM to 5 PM daily, until 6 PM Fri/Sat). Pump-outs are $5 on weekdays and $25 on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Please plan to have your sewage pumped on a weekday when possible to help avoid weekend congestion.

Is carpet allowed on the docks?

No. Carpet is forbidden on the docks because it retains moisture and destroys the decking.

Can I use the marina dumpsters?

The dumpsters on the marina grounds are for marina customers only, for trash accumulated on boats or on the docks. They are not for trash from cabins, campsites, or other off-site locations.

What are the parking rules?

Parking is limited to designated parking areas only. Keep off the grass and do not drive on the grounds or down to the shoreline. Enter the marina uphill past the marina office with your parking permit displayed on the dashboard. Observe the 5 mph speed limit on all marina roads.

What are the marina rules?

Key rules include: observing the 5 mph speed limit on marina roads, keeping your slip area clean, following all U.S. Army Corps of Engineers regulations for Youghiogheny River Lake, and being considerate of fellow boaters. Full rules are provided with your slip rental agreement.

How do I report a dock problem?

You can report dock issues, maintenance needs, or safety concerns through our online Report a Problem form. We review reports promptly and address issues as quickly as possible.

What is the cancellation and refund policy?

Cancellation and refund terms are outlined in your slip rental contract. Generally, refunds are prorated after deduction of a service fee. Please contact us directly to discuss your situation.
